Even cars in Australia have BALLS: A road trip to CANBERRA!

I have been living in Sydney for almost a year now, I have to admit that I’m loving it. The lifestyle itself, small trendy bars, hot aussie men, cocktails, healthy food and my job. My partner’s friend invited us to visit Canberra on the weekend. So I packed my HUGE Mulberry bayswater bag and hit the road. Australians have this tradition that when you go on a road trip you have to stop at Maccas. It’s mandatory…(personally I prefer Hungry Jacks :P) anyway we were on our way to Canberra, when we saw this van with balls, literally HUGE balls dangling from the back of the truck. We couldn’t stop laughing…it was so hilarious!!! Welcome to Australia mate! Where even the cars have balls!!

Thank God, I dont have to worry about going home when I’m drunk because I can just call a taxi! When I was living in Tokyo, I thought it was  the most expensive city  BUT living in Australia is way more expensive! ridiculously expensive but TOTALLY WORTH IT! It’s like living in a five star hotel! I LOVE IT! til next time! CIAO

The taste of Pina Colada @ RAMBUTAN Lounge (Darlinghurst): Sydney, I love You mate!

First of all, I wanna apologise to my readers that I have not been updating my blog for these past few weeks! Im still trying to get used to my SYDNEY Lifestyle! I can say that Sydney is pretty much the combination of TOKYO & MANILA for me! Tokyo because Fashion, Food, Bars, Architecture, Art, Night Life, Shopping Center, Cocktails etc. and Manila simply because Australian People are the same as Pinoy (Filipino) people! They are warm, family-oriented, laid back and drunk all the time (Im talking about Aussie Bogans)! I love Australia! Sydney is my 3rd home now! You know that  I’m a simple person right?! all I wanted is simple life! BWAHAHA! that’s completely bullshit! No im not simple! NOT AT ALL! Im not that boring! f*ck simple when you can be a little extravagant! I always wanted to live in a nice apartment in the city with a gorgeous man, get a fabulous job that I want (a job that I can be creative and happy), build my own business/empire, cocktails with friends, attend amazing fashion events/cool parties and visit my family  overseas! Well, I’ve got exciting news to share to you! Well I got a job in a high-fashion company in the city and me and my gorgeous partner found  a beautiful apartment in the city! Its gonna be fun! Interior designing, new set of fashion workmates, furniture hunting and Of course! house parties! Its funny because i’m already living my dreams! ALMOST! And whats next?! …

To buy a new cool camera (Sorry for the quality of my photos! I used my phone and I was ridiculously smashed!) and DREAM BIGGER!

REGAINING INSANITY by Nathan Brindle: He is a TRULY gifted Artist! Awesome!

Regaining Insanity is an exhibition of thoughts and images captured through a journey of youthful enlightenment. It is the second solo show by Nathan Brindle.

He applies acrylic paint, pencil and ink to paper, canvas, bird boxes and wooden panels to create contemporary mixed media illustrations.

In this series of artworks he has portrayed people and concepts encountered through an 18 month period (2008 – 2009) in which he returned back to his childhood hometown on the South Coast of New South Wales.

Through his drawings Nathan explores and depicts the insanity of mundane, day to day life of living in a small coastal town.

Dirty Dancing with Super Heroes: Costume Birthday Bash at WORLD SQUARE PUB Sydney!

I admit that you have seen this look before… Yes! I used it once in MASQUERADE BALL in Tokyo! WHAT’S wrong with using it again?! It’s not like THE RED CARPET or a Fashion Show! OKAY! I’m sorry (tears)! It was my partner’s fault because we got invited to this COOL Private Birthday Party (where you have to dress like your favorite hero) on the day of the celebration and I didn’t have time to prepare. I got home from work around 6 and we had to be there at 8! 2 Hours? Really!!! He had the whole day to put his look together!

Everyone knows that it is RUDE to go to an event without following the DRESS CODE! So I ended up using my precious mask! I was the GOLDEN PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and my partner was CLOUD from FINAL FANTASY. We arrived to this private function room full of different HEROES… X-MEN, Ninja Turtles, Ghost Buster, Street Fighters and also the VILLAINS! Well, You can’t be a super hero without THEM! It was like a FANTASY! it was like being a kid again…but with cocktails/champagnes instead of ice cream!

Celebrating the Autumn/Winter Range and Typical Night Out at White Revolver in Bondi!

Every time I’m gonna see a notoriously stylish person pushing a garment rack on wheels in the city, reminds me of Visual Merchandiser. After finding this first job working in a fashion company in Sydney last month, It’s pretty much same routine in Tokyo (meeting hardcore Fashion People, Amazing Fashion Shows, Latest Trends, Endless Parties, Champagne and Funny Conversation). The only difference is I get paid weekly and higher salary compare to Tokyo! MUCH HIGHER!

After celebrating the New Autumn Winter Collection that night, the fun part began! The continuous flow of champagne, wine, beer and PIZZA! Well, if you know me that well, of course my night doesn’t end just like that! after that amazing fashion show night, I went to my workmates house because she had to change her outfit and continue our drinking session! Around 12, we were smashed and ready to get down and dirty in the club (White Revolver). We finished around 6 took a taxi home and ate breakfast, took a bath and went straight to work! Can you keep up? LOL… WELCOME TO MY LIFE!

The WOW Factor of 19th Century European Art PART II: They’re some of the most beautiful paintings I’ve ever seen!

THE SCHAEFFER GALLERY

I’m not even surprised about what I felt when I saw all those paintings! My world just stopped when I was looking at each painting – it was like watching a Dolce and Gabbana, Dior, Chanel, Bottega Veneta or Louis Vuitton Fashion Show! BREATH-TAKING! Every painting signified romanticism, chivalry, beauty, class, elegance and inspiration. I’m so proud that my grandma is half-spanish – at least I have a drop of that blood! Looking at those magnificent pieces makes me feel I’m seeing the heart of Europe. I’ve always wanted to go so I’m sure I’ll get there someday, one way or another!

“Cimon and Iphigenia 1884” By: Lord Leighton Frederic (England) 1830-96

My Favorite Story: Galesus was the handsomest son of a noble Cypriot named Aristippus, but so uncouth and uneducated in his ways that he was known as Cimon (meaning “brute”). One afternoon he came across a girl, Iphigenia, asleep with her slaves in a meadow and became transfixed by her beauty. His love for Iphigenia caused Cimon to abandon his boorish ways and to acquire the accomplishments fitting to the nobility of his station.

“The visit of the Queen of Sheba to King Solomon 1881-90” By: Edward John Poynter 1836-1919

“The sea hath its pearls 1897” By: William Henry Margetson 1861-1940

“Chivalry 1885” By: Frank Dicksee 1853-1928

“Mariamne 1887” By: John William Waterhouse 1849-1917

“Diogenes 1882” By: John William Waterhouse 1849-1917

My Favorite Story: Diogenes is the most famous of the Cynic philosophers. He pursued the ideal of eliminating non-essential luxuries, thus choosing to live not in a house but in a large tub. Supposedly he would stalk the streets of Athens at night with the lantern vainly searching for an honest man.

“Wedded 1882” By: Frederic Lord Leighton 1830-96

THE OLDEST OF THEM ALL! WOW!

“Madonna and Child enthroned with Saints” By: Jacopo di Cione 1320-1396

Oops! I’m in trouble! My First Red Card at the Art Gallery of New South Wales: Official Opening of “UNGUIDED TOURS” Part I!

It wasn’t a warning card but an invitation from a good client of mine who was one of the Artists! I was fashionably late AGAIN! As always, but better than NEVER! When I got to the Art Gallery of New South Wales! I was surprised because of  the huge amount of space they have compared to Tokyo… Well I guess that’s the normal size! I just got used to everything being small in Tokyo! Anyways, it was actually my first time to see an art exhibition in Sydney. I went straight to the Function for A Glass of Champagne because I desperately need a drink that night and started to mingle with people! It was so funny  that I even saw my partner’s friend from university whom I met 4 years ago! WHATTA  small world moment! They closed the bar around 7:30 which was so frustrating but LUCKILY, one of the hot waiters gave me 2 more glasses which made my night so PERFECT! When I started to get a little bit drunk (Yah right! little bit!) I started to check out those AHH-mazing MASTERPIECES! For some weird reason, I actually appreciate art when I’m drunk compared to when I’m sober! Is it just me? Don’t worry! I took some photos for you to make your life easier! Aren’t I nice? Well! Grab a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and relax! Sorry for the bad quality of the photos! I took them from my iphone! I can’t wait to share part II of this story. I’ll show you one of the most beautiful pieces I’ve ever seen in my life!

Congratulations to Jae Hoon Lee and all the Artists! You guys rock my world!
