STYLE FILE “The World’s Most Elegantly Dressed”: Another Addition to my Coffee Table Book Collection!
“One should either be a work of art, or wear a work of art.”
We were shopping at Westfield and I saw this little book shop. There was something about the title of this book that totally caught my attention, “The World’s Most Elegantly Dressed”. This book is the compilation of different profiles of the most influential designers of the world today and their views and opinions about style and elegance. Being stylish and elegant isn’t as easy as it sounds. Women who wear Oscar de la Renta gowns, Bvlgari Jewelry and Manolo Blahniks also need to have good manners, a sense of humor and an amazing character – that’s the definition of ELEGANCE to me! My favorite part of this book is when each of the designers is asked “WHAT MAKES A PERSON STYLISH?”
Carolina Herrera: TASTE. If you don’t have taste, you will never be stylish. Style is a state of mind. It is how you live; how you wear your clothes; it is what you read and what you love. It has nothing to do with money.
Zac Posen: Being in touch with one’s body and fulfilling one’s fantasies everyday.
John Galliano: Conviction and Curiosity-someone who wants to do it his or her on way.
Diane Von Furstenberg: Confidence
Christian Louboutin: Clearly not their clothing; but the way they carry what they have on.
Andre Leon Talley: Confidence and impeccable hygiene.
Oscar de la Renta: Style is about your personal sensibility; It’s about understanding and dressing for your lifestyle.
Through this inspirational phrases made me realized that some people are just gifted with STYLE!
What makes a person stylish?
For me I think it’s when someone’s looks at your outfit, character and bearing and you can see the admiration in their eyes.
The Art of Elysium is a non-profit organization that encourages celebrities, artists and musicians to volunteer to help the children who are battling serious illnesses. There were 500 guests who participated in the 4th Annual Black Tie “Heaven” Charity Gala last Saturday (Jan. 15) at the California Science Center in LA. I love these people!
