The controversial cover of Shinjuku girl Olivia Munn for MAXIM February 2011 issue!
“It’s disgusting, Maxim has moved their magazine from tawdry to full-on pornography. Any store could have children coming in. If I were a parent, and I walked into a store and saw that cover, I would make a scene until the manager hid it,” according to Dan Gainor, the Vice President of Business & Culture at the Media Research Center. Are you being serious now?! Really? Don’t hate honey! Appreciate! I actually like it! It’s very simple yet provocative! It’s her second time to appear on a Maxim cover!
Oliva Munn, of Chinese and German-Irish descent, was born in Oklahoma and became a famous model within the Japanese fashion industry and is one of the sexiest nerds I know. She was raised in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo, Japan. Give her a break! After all it’s Maxim Magazine! It’s a men magazine known for its revealing sexy photos of hot women, actresses and models. Just saying!
Besides, if you can’t deal with that, check out some of the magazine covers we have to deal with here in Tokyo. Here are some photos of the covers in my local convenience store:
